What every Cornwall driver should know
Practical guidance from the team that performs Wet Sanding & Paint Restoration every weekend across Eastern Ontario.
Oxidation versus clear coat failure
Oxidation is a dull, chalky layer that can often be removed. Clear coat failure looks like peeling, cloudy patches with defined edges and cannot be corrected by any polishing process.
The sanding and refining sequence
Sanding levels the surface but leaves uniform fine scratches. Each following stage uses a finer abrasive until the surface reflects clearly again. Skipping a stage leaves visible haze.
Aftercare is not optional
Restored paint has less clear coat than it started with. Protect it with a coating or sealant and keep to safe washing methods so the results last.
Questions we hear most
Why do you need photos first?
Wet sanding removes clear coat. Photos help us judge whether the finish is a candidate before you commit to an appointment.
Can clear coat failure be fixed?
No. Peeling or flaking clear coat requires repainting. Sanding will not repair it and we will say so up front.
How long does it take?
This service is quoted individually and often takes one to two days.
